I understand the problem with Substitutionary Atonment and agree that it doesn’t hold up in an understanding of a loving God of justice and grace, but I’m having a little problem fleshing out the idea that we demand the sacrifice. How does God (and maybe, Why does God?) cater to this demand? Is it that this is the only way that we, as finite creatures, can get it?
